Group Description

The jivika (livelihood) network is concerned with gender equity in natural-resource-based livelihoods and anti-poverty initiatives in South Asia and beyond. jivika is intended to facilitate the interaction of field workers, activists, action-researchers, students, teachers, scholars, managers and other practitioners. It is a free, open and informal forum for women and men to share news of current developments, publications, workshops, projects, campaigns etc.; to store and exchange documents and pictures; and to build a directory of expertise. It also seeks to focus discussion, from time-to-time, on the conceptual and methodological problems, issues and ideas related to livelihood and gender equity in community resource management, and to identify areas for further research and action.

jivika is an independent, unsponsored and voluntarily administered group. We respect freedom of speech and anyone can become a member. However, all those who wish to join must disclose their identity and location; no anonymous members whatsoever.
For queries address: Rajesh Ramakrishnan and Seema Kulkarni
