Subject: OTR Upcoming Re-Enactment Special Broadcast On Nov. 22nd....

      Hi everyone:

As many of you know, this Friday is the 22nd.  Does anyone remember what happened 39 years TO THE DAY??? (Note:  Many people today are no doubt a year ahead of time, so they'll think it's 40 years instead)

If you said "JFK was shot", PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK  because that's EXACTLY what happened.  To commemorate this historic event (and to remember the greatest President born in the 1900s), KPDC Internet Radio (my Talk/OTR station), MusicRadio 102X (my music station) as well as (hopefully!) KPDC Internet TV (my wee wittle personal TV station) will have SPECIAL COVERAGE of this most historic event as all three will be broadcasting (or making the video available for on demand viewing on KPDC Internet TV) coverage of the JFK Assassination, however it'll be done with a *bit* of a modern day twist.

I plan to start out with localized coverage on all three stations, reading bulletins heard on one station, but not on the others (with video, this may be easier said than done, but I'll try nonetheless).  After a certain time, each of the stations will go to other sources for additional coverage.

Using coverage from NBC News and their "JFK Assassination - AS IT HAPPENED" series, KPDC Internet TV will go straight to NBC's coverage of the events after the "local" coverage.  KPDC Internet Radio will most likely follow suit, though I can't say for sure as I haven't made up my mind as of this writing.  MusicRadio102X on the other hand, will switch to "sister station" KLIF-AM 1190 and *its* continuous coverage right on up to the broadcast of the official announcement of JFK's death.  After that will be some more "local" coverage and then it too will make the switch to NBC's "live" coverage of the events after that.

*****UPDATE FOR OTR & OTV FOLKS:  NO VIDEO WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE KPDC INTERNET TV WEBSITE (Tried encoding using BOTH Real AND Windows Media with no luck given the way in which the video was made), however the audio portions are a go)*****   I am sorry as I wanted the video to work too.....  :-(

I'll only have the first six hours as that's all I have outside of mere sound bytes and stuff which probably wouldn't make much sense anyway.  The sound bytes WILL NOT be included.

I also plan to include station IDs during the promoted ID breaks as well.  However, even the IDs will sound a bit on the modern side (especially via Internet Radio).

I know I can hear the purists out there SCREAMING, but given the current times, the LAST message I want to send out is one which *might* contain a plot to kill President Bush.  As such, it will be made CLEAR that the coverage which listeners are hearing is only VIRTUALLY LIVE and DOES NOT mean that President Bush has been shot and assassinated.. Basically, it's to keep the "legal eagles" happy (especially since the radio stations are both on Live365).  :-)

This is one time which I'm letting my online TV station (which has no other means of streaming content) take the primary media position much like radio stations of today did in the wake of 9/11 and almost every other event since the JFK Assassination.

The radio stations are all streaming MP3, so you'll need a player such as Winamp to properly receive them.  The video streams will both be in RealMedia format so you'll need the RealPlayer to watch the video, however though it WILL NOT be live like the radio stations due to the lack of resources, but if you tune in at the right time, who knows, it just may be as close to real time as possible to you.  :-)

The websites will also have updated virtual coverage as well, so be sure to check those out too.  :-)

As for bitrates, the breakdown is as follows....

KPDC Internet Radio broadcasts in 24K streaming MP3 mono (which is perfectly receivable by almost any modem today except 14.4)
MusicRadio 102X broadcasts in 56/22 streaming MP3 stereo (NOT receivable on a dialup - this is a broadband only stream)

The radio streams are available either via Live365 or via the websites which will be posted below.

Having said all that....Cheers for now :-)
