      WEBMASTER'S CORNER
      ==================

I have to start off this newsletter because there are a few changes going
on with how we will be sending it out in the future and I wanted to make
sure everyone was on board with it. We really appriciate the feedback so
far from the poll we started after the last newsletter and the consensus
was to create two different newsletter formats. This means you have more
choices how you want to continue recieving this newsletter of ours!

We will continue to focus on making the HTML version our primary format
for the newsletters as it gives us both a lot more flexibility and it is
also a LOT easier to work with. The HTML version will only be available on
our forums and if you sign up for a membership, you can join the
JEREMIAHNEWS usergroup where a URL will be emailed to you once a
      newsletter is published.

A day or two later, we will convert the HTML version into text and send it
via the Yahoo!Groups mailing list, JEREMIAH-NEWS just like we have been
doing up to this point. If you remain a member of that group, you will get
the entire newsletter (text only) in your Inbox.

Do let us know how this works for you.

I also wanted to explain why this newsletter was so late since it was
ready to go a few weeks ago. I have been having some fairly serious health
problems which started just before I was ready to send out the newsletter.
I am much better now but still recovering and will be for about another
month. If you sent me an email, I will be replying to it soon but please
be patient as I have a lot of catching up to do.

Thanks and enjoy the rest of the newsletter. Over to you Channe!

      --Monica--

      EDITOR'S CORNER
      ===============

I would like to welcome our new readers, hand mojitos to our old
stalwarts, and pillows to sit on for all, since we'll be waiting... and
waiting... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting... for Jeremiah to
      air this year.

For those lucky dogs up in Canada, we recently got wind of some
interesting news that Jeremiah is heading for Canada's Global TV this fall
and will be paired with Stargate SG-1. Global is a broadcast to many, many
homes and a few Canucks likened it to stations like NBC, ABC or CBS here
in the states. We are really curious how it is going to be edited or if it
will be edited at all. Canadian regulations about what can be shown on TV
are much more lax than they are over here so they will probably show it
after 9pm unedited. Please report back to us what version is showing on
      Global when it does air.

      Cheers, everyone!

      --CHANNE--

      SEASON TWO CONFUSION
      ====================

Ah, yes, about that airdate. Showtime is now telling fans that the show is
scheduled to return during the fourth quarter -- which means the season
premiere could be any time between September and December. Monica likened
this to a "dangling carrot," and I am very inclined to agree. They'd
better be costuming Luke Perry in a ton of tight leather pants to make up
      for this.

TM operative Diana reported this little story which had some season two
information. A friend of hers had called her local cable company to make
some changes to her subscription. During this call, she asked when the
second season of Jeremiah would start and was told that it would premiere
in September 2003. Apparently, a Showtime representitive had stopped by
the cable company's office that very day and had that information to
provide Diana's friend when she called in!

This just in -- JMS has given an update in the moderated newsgroup that he
thinks it will be "the first week in September". For the full quote, check
out the JMS Speaks section below.

Hmm, the date that seems to be getting mentioned the most is September so
let's hope that it is no later than that!

      JEREMIAH CAST NEWS
      ==================

So, as usual, we have tons of news from the front:

Composer Tim Truman tells us this week that he's just finished scoring the
two-hour season finale, "Interregnum: Part Two." He assures all you
readers quaking in your booties that "this season is powerful," and
dropped a few hints about a soundtrack -- it's only an idea, not a go, but
he thinks a soundtrack is an excellent idea and is assembling a suggested
CD for MGM to review at their leisure.

Ingrid Kavelaars answered more of our questions about her experience on
Stargate SG-1, Dreamcatcher, and other recent projects, including her
thoughts on the new season of Jeremiah (she's been quite the busy lady).
Scroll down for the full details.

If you get a chance, check out these J-actors in their new flicks. Daniel
Gillies (Simon) takes the role of John Jameson in Spider-Man II; Alana
Husband (Cassandra) did stunts for X2; and Kandyse McClure (poor, dead
Elizabeth) has been cast as Dualla in the U.S. Sci-Fi Channel's new
      Battlestar Galactica miniseries.

      SHOWTIME SPEAKS
      ===============

      DEAD LIKE ME
Have you ever wondered what happens when you die?

Beginning Friday, June 27th at 10:00pm ET/PT on Showtime, viewers will
find out what life beyond the grave holds for Georgia ("George") Lass
(Ellen Muth), a young woman whose life on earth was "dull as dishwater"
until the moment a freak accident ended it in a flash. Now, George is
spending her afterlife working as a "Reaper" (think Grim Reaper, only much
more upbeat, with nicer clothes!), helping those members of the living
slated for death to make the transition smoothly. Hey, it's not exactly a
career in show business but, all in all, it's not a bad gig for someone
with no marketable skills and very little practical work experience.

We know we keep promoting this show but we have a feeling that it may be
paired with Jeremiah when season two does air so if you are still
subscribed to Showtime, you may as well check it out.

We got this from someone who posted on Showtime's official boards:

      Discussion Thread
      Response (Tony) 05/27/2003 08:12 AM

JEREMIAH is scheduled to return during the 4th Quarter 2003. New episodes
of Odyssey 5 will not be produced. I am forwarding your email to the
programming department, as they should be aware of the strong viewer
support of this show. There has been a tremendous about of attention given
to this original series, and we are very pleased that you would like to
      see new episodes.

      RUMORS SQUASHED
      ===============

      It's rumor-stomping time, kids...

A source told us that a Vancouver newspaper, The Vancouver Province,
published a sidebar in their entertainment section that says the future of
our favorite post-apocalyptic dysfunctional family drama is "iffy at
best," and likened its future to that of the already canceled sci-fi
series John Doe and The Twilight Zone. We're not too sure this information
is completely correct, given that the newspaper stated that the show was
aired on the US Sci-Fi Network (don't get your hopes up, fans -- it's not
true). Jeremiah is patently not cancelled as far as we know -- especially
since they now have an entire season produced and in the can and to do so
would be the most insane thing studio execs did since they cancelled
      "Firefly."

      Nope, I'm not bitter.

Those of you reading the Showtime boards have probably also heard the
rumor that Jeremiah has been cancelled because Malcolm-Jamal Warner and
Luke Perry committed themselves to other projects. Don't believe this one,
either -- we can't find any substantiation whatsoever for this one.

We don't know where these rumors are coming from, honestly.

      WIN SOMETHING AT THE ABYSS
      ==========================

We know we said no more promotions until after season two starts but it
has been so long in coming that we wanted to try something in the
meantime. Also, we recently opened up our forums and would like more
people to participate so we thought this would be a clever way to use up
      some of our prizes.

Here is the deal. The rules are simple and the more people that
participate, the more prizes we will give away! To qualify for this
promotion, all you have to do is:

enter, the more prizes get thrown into the pot. We will give out an additional

      CATCHING UP WITH INGRID
      =======================

The flaxen-haired Ingrid Kavelaars has been pretty busy these days -- and
she's doing a lot more than just plotting a jailbreak for Jeremiah.

STARGATE SG-1: Major Erin Gant, episode "Memento"
      http://www.gateworld.net/sg1/s6/620.shtml

"Going to work on Stargate was like working with a well oiled machine. I
was able to work with my good friend Peter DeLuise and had finally gotten
a chance to meet Amanda Tapping. I had heard great things about Amanda,
but had no idea what a down to earth, generous person she is. She also
happens to be very, very funny. Not to take anything away from the cast
and crew -- but she is a real class act."

DREAMCATCHER: You know, that Stephen King horror flick
      http://dreamcatchermovie.warnerbros.com

"It has always been a dream of mine to meet let alone work with the man
who made "The Big Chill." It is a true honor to have Lawrence Kasdan on my
resume. I learned a lot from him in the few days I worked with him. He
taught me that the story is everything. If you stay true to that, you will
      never go wrong."

"I played a woman who is in need and has an erie meeting with one of the
      lead men."

JINNAH ON CRIME: A Canadian movie-to-possible-series
      http://www.cbc.ca/jinnah/

"I got to work again with [Jeremiah alum] Brad Turner. I really enjoy
working with him. He [directed] 'Moon in Gemini,' my episode of Jeremiah.
The movie is a whodunit. I played a very driven tv reporter who would do
about anything to beat Jinnah -- a newspaper reporter -- to a story. I
liked how the writers used these two characters, working in different
media, to tell the story. It is the second one of these movies that they
have made. Word is they may try and make it into a series. I will keep my
      fingers crossed for them."

WHITE COATS: Ingrid gets to work with comedy greats Dan Aykroyd and Dave
      Thomas
      http://www.secondcity.com/news/article.asp?nid=572996865

"That movie was the most fun I have ever had at work in my life. Dave
Thomas wrote and directed the movie. He also happens to be one of the
smartest people I have ever meet. He made every person in that cast feel
like they could do anything. His generosity and humour made our long days
a delight. I am proud to now call him my friend."

"He also brought a bunch of his friends in to do cameos: Dan Aykroyd,
Maury Chakin, Saul Raubinak, Matt Frewer and Dave Foley. Most of my stuff
      is with Dave Foley."

"My character is a intern at a hospital. She is the quintessential
brown-noser -- the girl in school we all hated. I loved playing her."

      JEREMIAH: Ingrid drops some hints...
      http://abyss.hubbe.net/jeremiah/

"I think this season is outstanding!! Everyone is going to be really
happy. We have some interesting twists in the story that none of us saw
coming. So, we are all going to have to wait and see how it all plays
      out."

      Jeremiah
Luke who's in this issue! Yes, Jeremiah himself, Luke Perry, stops his
wanderings for a few moments in order to provide some tantalizing hints
about what's in store in the second season of the post-apocalyptic drama.

      JMS SPEAKS
      ==========

If you're interested in JMS' opinion on the recent Iraq war and aftermath,
check the archives at JMSNEWS. He's been involved in quite a few firey
discussions with other posters on the newsgroup.

Other than that, there's only one post that is directly Jeremiah-related.
He has done a lot of talking about Supreme Power, his new comic, so here's
some information on that -- including exciting info on his involvement
with the possible Dr. Strange series...

      Jun.17.2003
      -----------
It's been almost two years since the first season of Jeremiah ended - have
the plans to film season two been shelved?

First, the statement above is not correct. The season finale aired July
19, 2002, so it's less than one year since the season ended.

Second, last I heard the show was going to run starting the first week in
September so that it could conclude with the last four shows in November
      sweeps.

      Jun.3.2003
      ----------
Couple of quick bits though... When might we see the last few Rising Stars
      issues? PLEASE!!

That depends entirely on a situation with Top Cow that is in need of
resolution. The delay in writing has not been a delay in writing; it's
been working through some problems with Top Cow for the last...almost year
now. The final issues won't be turned in untnil those issues are resolved.

JQ has mentioned that a new Dr Strange series is being "worked on". I know
you've said you'd love to be part of this. What are the chances of you
      being involved?

      100%.

      Jun.1.2003
      ----------
Just an FYI for those who've been keeping an eye on this one...on August
6, Supreme Power will hit the stands, with pre-orders being taken now at
comics stores. Up until now, I'd always felt that Midnight Nation was the
best thing I'd ever managed to pull off in comics. (I enjoy the heck out
of writing Spidey, but there's just something about Midnight Nation that
      won't let me go.)

Supreme Power may, I finally think, supplant that one.

There's something going in in Supreme Power, a strong emotional core, that
pulls me in every time I sit down to write it. It's got an edge, it's
profoundly sad in places, and weirdly funny in other places. Some elements
are bound to be a bit controversial, but that's part and parcel of telling
this particular story. Emotions are, for me, the whole point of telling a
story, and those who've read and reviewed Midnight Nation as it slowly
revealed itself know what I'm talking about.

Not coincidentally, Gary Frank is doing the art, who also did the art on
Midnight Nation. So that may also be a part of it. The art is just
stunning, especially the way he captures the emotion of the characters in
      their eyes.

Given the reactions of some folks who've seen the black and whites proofs
of the first issue, I think this is going to move out pretty fast, and
Marvel for the most part doesn't reprint issues, so if it ain't ordered in
advance, it might not be available until the gather it together for the
      trade.

Anyway...I don't want to belabor the point. I don't generally come on to
promote something unless I feel strongly about it, and this one I
      *definitely* feel strongly about.

I'm inestimably proud of this book, and I hope you'll check it out.
