      The problem I see with this solution is that the problem is not

      if (1=1) {
      if (2=2) {
      @@printf("HELLO");
      }
      }

      When at the @@ line, I do C-c C-c, I get:

      if (1=1) {
      if (2=2) {
      /* printf("HELLO"); */
      }
      }

      Then, when I restyle the buffer:

      if (1=1) {
      if (2=2) {
      /* printf("HELLO"); */
      }
      }
