Group Description

A group dedicated to help and support the illustrious and world renowned Islamic University Jami'ah Nizamiyyah of Hyderabad India,

Jamia Nizamia, more properly, Jami'ah Nizamiyyah, is one of the oldest Islamic institutions of higher learning in India. It was founded by Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad Anwarullah Khan Faruqi, honorifically known as Fadilat Jung (the title was bestowed upon him by the Nizam), in Hyderabad in 1876.

Over the last 136 years the Jamia has endeavoured to preserve the traditional understanding of Islam and its normative sciences by the means of thoroughly recognized unbroken chains of Islamic authorization viz; the Ijazah and the Isnad, which go back to fourteen centuries to tie the institution and its scholars all the way to the Prophet Muhammad, may peace be upon him.

As the largest Islamic university in Southern India, the Jamia is considered to be the Azhar al-Hind or Al-Azhar University of India for its quality of education as well as the educational and social services it has rendered to the community in the past century and more. It was mainly due to the scholarly works accomplished by the outstanding faculty of the Jamia Nizamia that the State of Hyderabad was recognized as a hub of Islamic scholarship and research activities all over the world.

Undoubtedly, the Jamia constitutes a major part of the history of Islam in the sub-contntinent, particularly, the Deccan. May Allah through his immense mercy bless this institution and keep multiplying its barakah manifold, for the sake of his beloved Habib sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam
