to 2001 census. However these are not necessarily ranked according to
concentration (fraction of Jains).
However those see seeking a peaceful place, should stay in small or
medium sized cities.
Mumbai Suburban 319339
Delhi East * 39912
For some of the districts like Belgaum, a larger fraction of the
polulation is rural.

- Concentrated population of Jains are most in Gujrat, Rajasthan and Mumbai...of course shwetambaers are in majority in these states. I have seen all the small towns in Gujrat and Rajasthan are having big big temples and they are quite old too.
I was born and brought up in a place called Matunga in Mumbai. I had
all my neighbours, classmates, friends and all people whom I knew were
Jains. Paryushan is beautifully celebrated there and even today 95% of
the population is Jains in the area. Also Matunga has the best
colleges like Podar and VJTI and Ruia and Khalsa and also one of the
best schools like Don Bosco and J.B vacha. Just in case you were also
looking from the education point of view. There is no fish or non veg
market in the area and as far as my knowledge goes there are only 2
restaurants that serve non veg food out of maybe hundreds of other
restaurants that serve jain food.
It is very very centrally located in the city of Mumbai and one of the
best places to live. You must visit it once and you will surely love it.
Hope this information helps.
