Nightmare In South Dakota
Nightmare In South Dakota

Ron Branson stated:
I was mocked by those in South Dakota during the 2006 election on this point. They said, “If Ron Branson had his way, we would have to provide a jury trial to prosecute anyone who did not get a dog license.” I smiled at this observation of our enemies, but chose not to comment thereon. They are entirely correct, inasmuch as a dog license does not fall within the exception for impeachments. However, this conclusion is not based upon “what Ron thinks,” but upon the supreme law of the land, the Constitution. I didn’t happen to be around, or even make the suggestion, that we include this mandate when this provision was placed in our Constitution. They argue to me that they don’t have the money to give a jury trial to everyone that demands such trial for every citation they write. That’s tough! What are they proposing? Do they wish to abolish our Constitution?

Subject: The Right to a Jury Trial
In 2004 my constitutional rights were trampled on in South Dakota in a Domestic Violence Case. My right to possess a firearm was stripped from me without the right to a trial by jury! South Dakota does this by relegating Domestic Violence cases to Small Claims Court, and then they make an almost impossible loophole to attain a trial by jury. Basically a defendant has to break the law to get to the courthouse and then pay a ridiculous fee for a jury trial. Then it has to be applied for so many days before the trial, EVEN IF YOUR TRIAL DATE IS BEFORE THE ELAPSED TIME.
HOW can they get away with this nonsense! I saw what the media and Larry Long did to you guys in 2006 and know first hand the corrption in the Judiciary in South Dakota !
What’s really crazy is when I tried to get an out of state lawyer to look at my case years later, I tried to get a police report of the incident and the police dept told me that my case was "sealed"! I have since found my records of the incident and was wondering if you have bumped into any other incidences like mine and know of any lawyers that could look into "Judicial Improprieties." Thanks for any help.

Ron Branson Responds:
The sad fact is that the State of South Dakota would now have been the beacon on a hill shining forth its light of righteousness to this entire nation, inasmuch as God has promised, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people,” Proverbs 14:34, “…for the throne is established by righteousness.” 16:12.
It is unimaginable for one to ponder the prospects of the glorious benefits that would now be flooding into South Dakota so much so that they would not have room to receive it, if only the People of South Dakota had not allowed themselves to be deceived by the lies and the propaganda that was fed to them.
I cannot even here spell out the particulars of these blessings because our enemies seem to understand even better what Ron Branson is saying than the People he wishes to direct his information to. Christ told His disciples time and time again that the Scribes and the Chief Priest would put the Son of Man to death, but He would rise again on the third day. They just did not believe Him. But His enemies heard Him, “… that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again,” Matt. 27:63, so they posted guards because of Christ’s Words. But even after He arose from the dead, and it was reported to His disciples, we are told, “And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.” Luke 24:11.
Just for a morsel for you to ponder, imagine if you will for a minute no property taxes at all to pay. Your property would have been absolutely yours to do with it whatsoever you will! Your property would have been your castle and your sanctuary of safety! But the South Dakotans have chosen to reject the blessings of God, and now their house is left unto them desolate. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.” Hosea 4:6.
