The Rash Community was named for the original settler there, William Rash. This area was also known as Birmingham at one time. A Post Office was opened there in December of 1845 in the home of Anthony Crockett Austin. The area was called Birmingham from 1845 until July 1853.

Coon and Little Coon got its name?
