This is in response to J. Casey. Thanks for responding. The best
information I have on Joe (Joseph?) Barnes is that he had one child, a son
named Henry, b.June 1, 1884, mother was Mattie Adams. She died when Henry
was seven months old. My best guesstimate for Joe's DOB would be the
1840s. In reference to the question about Joe being in the Confederate
Military, I doubt it. It seems more likely that his father was in the War
Between the States. I am reasonably sure that Henry was born in Paint Rock
Valley and that his mother died there. I wish I had more dates to work
with. I don't know if Joe stayed in Paint Rock Valley or moved to
Tennessee. I do know that Henry married Berta Sons, b. March 2, 1884, on
December 20, 1905 in Cowan, Tennessee. I know this isn't much help but
it's all I have. Any other help or suggestions you may have will be
      appreciated. Thanks,
      George Johnson
