My 2nd great grandfather, Wiley King who was born in Jackson County married
a Marie Rowan. Don't know what brothers she had or her fathers first name,
but Maria A. Rowen (Rowan?) had a sister Matilda Rowan who married a
Wiseman and then a Davenport and had a daughter. Daughter, Sophronia,
married a James Montgomery, but this was late in Arkansas. Wiley and Maria
left Jackson county gradually over the 1840's to finally stay in Ark. Long
      shot, I know. Waynette

And, recently, on the updated LDS family search site, images of probate records from Alabama, including Jackson county, have begun to be displayed. The index already is on it, and a good number of Smiths are listed; it will just take patience to wait for those images to be put onto the site.
