      Clay,

My Great Great Grandmother according to Family legion was a Cherokee Indian from
Jackson County, (Elizabeth Riddle) however when She & my Great Great Grandfather Zachariah Simmons Married, they went to Fayetteville, Tn. in Lincoln County instead of
get Married in Jackson County, this was in December of 1839.
Can we draw any conclusions about that, for example
were Indian Marriages with Whites at that Period frowned on, and perhaps Lincoln County
more Liberal to the Marriages ? I have always wondered about this unless one or both
just had Family in Lincoln County....Thanks, Dwight Simmons
