Wininger, Potter, Precise
- OBIT: This is the dau of Ike and Annie Mae Wininger Potter. Such a wonderful sweet person.
ROSSVILLE -- Lela Mae Precise, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009.
She lived in Scottsboro, Ala., before moving to the North Georgia area in 1951. She attended Battlefield Baptist Church. She also enjoyed fishing and had a passion for gardening and flowers and was very talented with quilting and crocheting. She was the last surviving child in her family and was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Precise; great-granddaughter, Sara Lynn Maynor; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her loving husband of more than 64 years, James Robert Precise; two daughters and son-in-law, Glenda and Howard Thomas and Janet Hicks Kanitz, all of Rossville; six grandchildren, Larry Maynor Jr., Tommy Maynor, James Hicks Jr. and Tracy, Randy and Tammy Hicks; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor David Crane officiating.
Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. today and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
