there is a Wm Smith living two houses away.

      1840
I am including this Rebecca Smith because she I think is the Rebecca Smith that appears on the 1850 in Priraie AR, dont know what if any relation she is.

      page 62
      Rebecca Smith
      Males 1 of 5-10; 1 of 15-20

      Females 2 of 10-15; 4 of 15-20; 1 of 30-40

I have no way of knowing of who the head of household for James P. Smith but likely it is the 40-50 year old since it is likely his wife and children listed although it could be the 80-90 year old.

I have left off the James A. Smith with Brooks Smith, I don't think he is yours.

      James A. 10 AR
      Benjamin F. 8 AR
      George W. 5 AR
      Robert J. 2 AR

The James H. Smith on the 1840 Jackson Co. is most likely the James H. Smith on the 1850/60 Prairie Co. AR Census.

On the 1830 and 1840 census many times there is more than one family living in a household.

      Clay,

I hate to say this but I am totally confused in what I read in your post to Jimmie.  How do I make heads or tails of the information you gave me?

I think there maybe a possbility that my information (date wise) may be incorrect.  Can you give me some suggestions as to what to do.  I may even suspend my trip to Scottsboro....not sure.

      Thanks,

      Robert
