Yes, You can search the records yourself. The staff will get you started by
showing you the ropes but you do the search yourself.

      Subject: [jacksongenealogy] marriage records

      Hello -

Does anyone know if it is possible to physically (in-person) search marriage
records in Jackson County, perhaps at the courthouse. Has anyone done it?
I'd particularly like to know whether they seem to have complete records for
roughly 1870-1930, whether you can search yourself (or the courthouse staff
have to do if for you), and whether such records are searchable by name
(versus just being stored in chronological order). That sort of thing.
      Thanks in advance.
