So far, the only link between my Smith ancestors, and the Province family, is that, on third great grandpa James Smith's tombstone, he is called the consort of Lovy Province. It is assumed that Lovy was the daughter of John Province and Love Barnard ( who, on a Madison county deed, is put down as Lovy ). In an effort to find something more, I need to look at early Jackson County deeds; since James and Lovy Smith lived in Jackson. Does anyone have access to a list of the early deeds, or is there someone who is willing to look up the deeds for a fee?
