      If I were on the boat I might be able to remind myself but I don't remember removing the mount from the stringer. Again I'm not at all sure, it was 12 years ago. In any case I didn't run into any problems getting it back together. I remember paying attention to the original position (height adjustment) of the flex mount.
      I haven't  had the alignment checked since, so I can't say how successful I was.

      Thanks Dick. I couldn't see any other way but to completely remove the motor mount and bracket from the engine block and stringer, but wanted to check first with other on the J4x group if anyone had a better idea. The trick will be to do it without affecting the engine alignment. Do you happen to remember how the mount was attached to the stringer - did they use lag or machine bolts as fasteners?
