so they're re-inventing the smart terminal, X-terminal and/or thin client but with something heavy-enough to require remote administration. What a lose-lose scenario!
I guess I'm looking in the wrong place for a headless (no screen, no keyboard) embedded device with enough CPU power and RAM to process more than a PIC or AVR. Kinda what the eZ80 was aiming for: a single board computer that you embed into a machine and use TOTALLY remotely via its own web server or other ethernet/IP connectivity.
