Police cars in one Texas town to display ads
      http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/13103_state_copads.html

"People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has agreed to place
vegetarian-themed ads on 20-25 cars in a dozen cities in 10 states. Texas
is not one of them. Each ad will cost $1,000 and be on the side of the
      cars.

"One PETA ad shows a piglet with the caption "All pigs need respect" and
lists a phone number and Web site for vegetarian recipes. Many police
departments have rejected that ad, saying it is offensive.

"An alternate ad depicts a turkey with the message: "Take a bite out of
crime _ not me." That has not yet been approved, but Friedrich still hopes
agencies agree to run the pig ad.

""Police have a good sense of humor. They have to," Friedrich said."
