(US/pa) Mercersburg area farmers oppose speaker Neal Barnard for vegan stance

MERCERSBURG - Local beef and dairy farmers have called for yanking
support to the Mercersburg Area Council on Wellness because the group
is hosting an evening with a doctor who is outspoken in his promotion
of a vegan diet.
Dr. Neal Barnard, president of the Physicians Committee for
Responsible Medicine, is to speak at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Burgin
Center at Mercersburg Academy. More than 200 people have made
reservations to share dinner with him after his talk.
