      [Sacramento Bee]

In the narrow stretch of kitchen in the back of the Art of Food cafe
on Del Paso Boulevard, one appliance is boldly missing – the stove.

"This is our stove," said chef Richard Hemsley, pointing to two dehydrators.

The "living cafe and tonic bar" goes beyond vegan food – food without
animal ingredients or animal byproducts – by never heating dishes
beyond 105 degrees. The only exception is tea.

      This is raw food.
