A Central Texas group planned to protest an upscale Austin restaurant
Tuesday night for serving foie gras, which is fattened duck or goose
      liver.

Restaurant Jezebel is one of about a dozen restaurants in Austin that
serves the item on the menu.

The group Central Texas Animal Defense says the way the animals are
      force fed amounts to cruelty.

"Animals having pipes shoved down their throats several times a day -
and having up to 7lbs of food forced into their stomachs," said Noah
Cooper, Central Texas Animal Defense. "They become so diseased that
they can barely walk and this happens every day until they're
      slaughtered."
