      If you receive Grub error post Linux installation
      Do the following
       
      Start booting with first Linux CD in rescue mode
       
      Apply this command
      # chroot /mnt/sysimage
      # cd/boot/grub
      # head grub.conf
      # grub-install /dev/hda
      # reboot
       
      Pendrive in Linux
      # mount -t vfat/dev/sda1
      /mnt/pendrive

      Sir, The procedure you mentioned is also correct, but it can be done through following way also, Start pc with first Linux CD in resucue mode apply this comand

        but it can be done through following way also,

        Start pc with first Linux CD in resucue mode
        apply this comand
        # chroot /mnt/sysimage
        # grub (this will lead you to grub prompt > )
        grub> root (hd0,0) (this line can be found in the /boot/grub/grub.conf file)
        (0=zero not "O")
        an OK message will come.
        grub> setup (hd0) (0=zero not "O")
        OK message will come.
        grub> exit
        # exit
        here  u have to exit again
        # exit
        now system will restart.
        now your boot loader is ready.
