UNSW is one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities, with a commitment to new and creative approaches to education and research. The School of Languages and Linguistics, in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, teaches undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs in European and Asian languages and Area studies, and Linguistics/Applied Linguistics. The School runs a postgraduate NAATI-accredited program in Translation and Interpreting. It offers language streams in Chinese, French, Japanese, German, Indonesian, Korean, Russian and Spanish, with the Chinese stream having the largest student enrolment.
The School seeks an academic with established expertise in this field to make a significant contribution to teaching and coordination of this rapidly growing program, and to assist with the further development of the curriculum and research.
This is a full time, continuing position and is available from Semester 1, 2010, or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary range for Senior Lecturer is A$93K - A$107K and for Associate Professor is A$111K - $122K per year depending on qualifications and experience (plus up to 17% employer superannuation, plus leave loading).
