      Call for Submissions


      Polissema – A Journal of Letters is published yearly by the the
      Institute of Accounting and Administration, Porto (Instituto
      Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto), Portugal, and
      is now going on Volume 4. It is dedicated to promoting effective
      communication and exchange between scholars, teachers and
      institutions of higher learning in the area of Translation Studies.


      The articles will be reviewed by internal and external referees. All
      contributors should follow the journal's editorial guidelines (see
      below).

      Critical reviews of translations, dictionaries, and books on
      translations published in 2004/2005 are also welcome.

      Submission Deadline
      All articles and reviews must be received by March 15, 2005. Please
      send contributions via email to polissema@..., or in both
      hard and electronic copy to:

      POLISSEMA
      Guidelines for Contributors


      General Guidelines

       All submissions should be presented in RTF (Rich Text
      Format) with 1,5 spacing, 3,17 for right and left margins and 2,54
      for top and bottom margins, and should not exceed 15 pages (A4) or
      30,000 characters (with spaces).

       The required font is Times New Roman, 12 for text body, 10
      for endnotes, 11 for displayed text and bibliography.

       No Bold or Underline allowed – for emphasis, please use
      Italics.

       Do not use header or footer except for page numbers and
      endnotes (i.e. no footnotes).

       Tables, charts, graphics, and images should also be provided
      in a separate file.

       Your name, institutional filiation, and email should be
      given after the title.

       A 300-500 word abstract should follow the heading.

       The journal will accept contributions in any of the
      following languages: English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish.

      Citing

       For citing sources within the text, you may use
      parenthetical or endnote references.

       Endnote numbers should follow quotation marks and come
      before punctuation marks, and punctuation marks should be placed
      outside closing quotation marks. Examples: The author says that "the
      book is a work of art"4.
      The author says that the book is a work of art4.

       Quotations which are longer than 4 lines are to be displayed
      and not enclosed in quotation marks.

       The following styles of reference are accepted:

      Author/(Ed.) last name, first name. Title. Place: Publisher, Date of
      publication.
      Author last name, first name. "Title of article". Title. Editor.
      Place: Publisher, Date of publication. Page numbers.
