Announces a Translation Studies Research Symposium

Translation involves complex cultural situations, including inculturation of religious discourse, localization within utopian globalization, and marginalization of gender and identity. Among the scholars who are developing original approaches and models for translation studies to address such complexities are Professors Anthony Pym and Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak. They will speak about their research, Professor Pym on "On Inculturation" Professor Spivak on "Gender and Translation in the Global Utopia." Two distinguished translation scholars will respond to these lectures: Professor Sandra Bermann and Professor Edwin Gentzler.
