Trying to make sense of the latest Egyptian revolt...... This is one perspective that claims that the US and allies have been caught with egg on their face. As an eternal optimist I can only hope that this will be a set back to the "Empire". If the Syrian government can survive long enough to hold elections, (as scheduled), that would perpetuate the secular government while preventing a Muslim Brotherhood imposed theocracy, the great Western lie of imposing democracy and freedom will resonate around the world. Already, Germany questions the motives of the new "coalition of the willing" in their efforts to overthrow the Syrian government, especially the WMD red line. Time will tell.
In the interim, we can take to the streets to remind the public that "Diplomacy, not War is the Answer". 70% of Americans are opposed to a war against Syria. Once the MSM catches it's breath in their ongoing propaganda for war, we can expect more of the same. Now is the time for action... if not now, when? If not us, who?
The events in Turkey inspired the Egyptians, let the Egyptians inspire us. The nonviolent revolution is possible, necessary and overdue.
The diplomacy, not war rally against Syria will be taking place in Lafayette this Friday. Please repost to this message Sheila. We will demonstrate on the South side of the Circle from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday July 20th as well.
