On the 10th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, join us for a talk with renowned Peace activist, organizer, and author Medea Benjamin in Bloomington, Indiana.
Time for questions and answers will follow Medea Benjamin's audio-visual presentation. Copies of Medea's book Drone Warfare will be available for purchase. A reception with refreshments and book signing will conclude the evening.
Benjamin is co-founder of the women’s peace group Code Pink and the international human rights organization Global Exchange and has authored or co-authored nine books.
Benjamin's latest book, Drone Warfare: Killing by Remote Control was published in 2012 and is the main subject of her talk in Bloomington. She is one of the world’s experts on — and opponents of — drone warfare. She has recently visited families whose lives have been shattered by U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan and will speak about these experiences during her talk.
Medea Benjamin's talk in Bloomington is free and open to the public. Donations accepted.
Co-sponsored by Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom, Bloomington branch; Just Peace Task Force of the Unitarian Universalist Church, Bloomington; and Bloomington Peace Action Coalition.
