      International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC) - Global
      UNESCO is promoting free and pluralistic media - and mobilising the
      international community to discuss and promote media development - in
      developing countries and countries in transition. Guided by a council
      composed of 39 member states, this multilateral forum is particularly
      interested in media projects with potential to serve as models to
      seek support;

      proposals from least-developed, landlocked, and small
      island countries are especially welcome. Since 1980, the IPDC has
      channelled more than US$90 million to more than 1,000 projects in 135
      countries.
