In 2004, a skiing injury left him unable to do much in the way of physical exercise without pain. About a year later, he tentatively began to practice yoga again, attending mostly gentle and restorative-type classes. With time and some persistence, he was able to include more vigorous styles of yoga into that practice with a new awareness of his physical limitations and an appreciation for mindful movement. In August 2008, he was introduced to Purna Yoga Integral by Isabelle Barger, Director of the Integrated School of Yoga. He quickly fell in love with her style of teaching Restorative Yoga, with the Yoga Integral method, and with the range of techniques that it incorporates. Rolf has trained with Karma Swamini Barger and is certified by the International Yoga Federation to teach Traditional Hatha Yoga, Classical Raja Yoga, Power Yoga, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Artistic Yoga, and Yoga Integral. He currently integrates traditional and restorative styles into yoga classes for people of all ages and skill levels. His goals are to communicate the “spirit of yoga” and leave students feeling better when they finish a class than when they started.
Rolf also enjoys telemark skiing, hiking, reading, a variety of music, cooking and new dining experiences. Travel has also been a great source of wonder and adventure. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Georgia State University and Southern Illinois University and has over 20 years of experience working in the field of environmental consulting and engineering. His work requires occasional international travel, which has allowed him to experience different cultures; learn a bit about how people in other countries perceive the world; and provided some rare opportunities to engage in life. For this, he is truly grateful.

She started taking yoga as a student of Iyengar style pre-natal yoga 12 years ago. After a break, she started yoga in earnest attending Anusara, restorative, gentle, power, and vinyasa style classes. Her teacher training helped her incorporate yoga into her daily life.
