Interactive Activities for the Young EFL Learner
This session focuses on creating interactive activities for young EFL learners, aiming to familiarize participants with Hot Potatoes and enable them to use the software to produce their own activities for their language classroom, based on the needs, abilities, and interests of their pupils.
Outline of the session:
Week 1. Introductions, completing a survey.
Week 2. Presentation of interactive activities / related literature / discussion / intro to Hot Potatoes - presentation - review. Discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of the program.
Week 3. Downloading the programme, going though tutorials. Discussion of any problems and possible solutions.
Week 4. Prepare activites on JMix, JMatch and JCross. Post brief comments on the procedure and impressions. Upload activities. View and discuss.
Week 5. Prepare activities on Jcloze, JQuiz. Post comments and impressions. Upload activities. View and discuss. Prepare a Hot Potatoes review-evaluation with sugestions on how to use activities in the classroom. Upload review.
Week 6. Follow-up discussion and conclusions. Evaluations.
