ACLU Opens Anti-Hate Hot Line for Illinois Arab-Americans

      http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/092801_ns_aclu.html

September 28, 2001 There's new help for Arabs and Muslims in Illinois who
think they've been unfairly targeted by law enforcement following the
      terrorist attacks.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois has opened a telephone
hotline for people with complaints about treatment from police or airline
      security officials.

The ACLU says that even before September 11, up to 90 percent of
complaints about airport security were from people of Middle Eastern
      descent.

The group's executive director Colleen Connell says the government has to
hold to basic fairness principles even in these times.

The number to call is 312-201--9740.
