Comment: A less sinister explanation is that ABC have re-designed their website. However, the original article is archived at http://www.prisonplanet.com/us_military_drafted_plans_to_terrorize_us_cities.htm

Subject: Important Follow-up: ABC Removes Article Reporting US Military Chiefs Approved Terror on US Soil in Last Three Days

      Dear friends,

We've had quite a fascinating turn of events. On October 6th, an email went out to my entire list of over 8,000 people featuring a link to an ABC News article which reported plans of top US military chiefs to fabricate acts of terror on US soil in 1962. The plans, code named Operation Northwoods, were designed to manipulate the American public into supporting a war on Cuba. I personally checked the link to this ABC article several hours after sending the email. It was still active. As the email also provided a link to the original declassified military documents on the National Security Archives website, the email spread rapidly in the US and even around the globe.

Within three days of this email being sent, the ABC article disappeared from the link provided. This is highly unusual, especially considering that the article had been in the same place on the ABC website since it was originally posted in 2001. Clearly, someone does not want us to have this information. If you click on the link, it now states, "YouÂ’ve requested an abcnews.com page that does not exist." However, you can easily prove that the article did recently exist. In fact, as Google stores every web page that it has listed for several weeks in their cache, you can still see the article in its original form.

To prove this yourself, go to http://www.google.com first. Type in "Military Drafted Plans to Terrorize US Cities." You should see that the first entry is the ABC News article to which the previous email linked (see below if there are now two ABC entries on this). If you click on the link, you will see the ABC message stating that this page "does not exist." Now, go back to the Google page and look at the bottom right of that ABC entry. You will see two links, "Cached" and "Similar Pages." Click on the Cached link, and you will see that the original article recently did exist, and that you can still see and read it in the Google cache.

Interestingly enough, the Operation Northwoods article does still exist even on the ABC website. Someone appears to have moved it within three days of when the original email was sent. At least as of the time of writing of this email, the article is available at http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=92662&page=1 This moved article will likely also soon appear on the Google search. If this is the case and there are two entries, check the Google entry for http://abcnews.go.com/sections/us/DailyNews/jointchiefs_010501.html to see the original link that was removed. The link to the declassified military documents on the National Security Archives website at http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/news/20010430/doc1.pdf continues to be active as of this writing. As this website is run independently by George Washington University, this link is less likely to disappear.

Here's a quote from the ABC article, "America's top military brass even contemplated causing U.S. military casualties, writing: 'We could blow up a U.S. ship in Guantanamo Bay and blame Cuba,' and 'Casualty lists in U.S. newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation.'" And here's a quote from the declassified Operation Northwoods documents: "It is possible to create an incident which will demonstrate convincingly that a Cuban aircraft has attacked and shot down a chartered civil airliner enroute from the United States."

Even though these documents are over 40 years old, they show without any doubt that the top military chiefs of the US will sacrifice innocent American lives and severely manipulate public opinion in order to achieve their military objectives. Considering this, is it beyond comprehension that similar tactics were used with 9/11?

Working with an international team of researchers, I have been compiling reliable, easily verifiable information on a 9/11 cover-up for over two years now. Our website at http://www.WantToKnow.info  has become quite popular because of its concise summaries and the ease with which the information given can be verified. If you go to our two-page summary at http://www.WantToKnow.info/9-11cover-up  or even better, the 10-page summary at http://www.WantToKnow.info/9-11cover-up10pg you will find many revealing facts reported by the most respected newspapers and magazines in the US. We provide links direct to the original articles on major media websites. This allows you to personally verify each fact given on the 9/11 cover-up.

For everyone who received that first email on Operation Northwoods and passed it on to your friends and colleagues, thank you. We urge you to forward this email as well. This will give everyone an opportunity to read the highly revealing ABC article. It will also demonstrate how information can even be made to "disappear" when it threatens the to expose how rogue elements of government blatantly manipulate the public. By working together to build the critical mass necessary to bring these issues into public awareness, we can make the positive changes necessary to strengthen democracy and build a better world together. We invite you to join in building a brighter future for us and our children by spreading this email to your network and posting it wherever possible. Thank you very much for caring. Each one of us can make a big difference!

      With very best wishes,
