       Hello Group,

Trying to get some suggestions or ideas on identifying a life insurance policy for a recently deceased person in San Diego, CA.  There is no probate involved as of yet.  My client is trying to identify any payouts to one specific beneficiary to obtain back-pay on past child support issues.

If you have suggestions or ideas, I would greatly appreciate assistance.

Please, NO phone calls.  Please respond via email ONLY.

      Thank you

      Ed

Please keep in mind Anyone who had an invested interest in the deceased could obtain a life insurance policy that would not be privy to disclosure in probate

        Please keep in mind

Anyone who had an invested interest in the deceased could obtain a life insurance policy that would not be privy to disclosure in probate court.

The Administrator of the deceased estate would only produce policy's that they were privy to or found documentation of a policy.

I had a similar request from a client several years ago. ..so I do know the situation you are facing.

I would suggest to monitor periodic assets assessments on the specific beneficiary in question. Also payout on a life insurance policy may not be considered

I would suggest to monitor periodic assets assessments on the specific beneficiary in question.

Also payout on a life insurance policy may not be considered income for assessing child support in your state.

Check the state law as to what income is considered for the basis of child support.
