      Hello All,

I recently began using a Sony HDR-SR11 handycam for surveillance video.
The only problem I'm having with the camera is that the date and time
stamp will not transfer when I make a DVD. Sony tech support recommended
video editing software (Sony Vegas Movie Studio) but that didn't work
either. The Vegas Movie Studio tech people said I could add a date and
time marker but it would not be the code from the actual video footage
and therefore would not be admissible in court if challenged. They
recommended that I send the video through a "capture device" before it
goes to my computer. I am at the end of my camcorder savvy. Can anyone
please help? I would really hate to go back to my big and bulky 8MM
camcorder, which is so old it won't interface with Vista on my computer.

The problem with these new camcorders is if they only have digital video output and not the analog it probably won t transfer. If it has an analog video output

analog it probably won't transfer. If it has an analog video output Sony has a unit available

called "DVD Direct" that can be purchased at Circuit City, Best Buy, etc.. which does transfer

the date and time stamp to the DVD when you copy it.
