- Dec 8, 2013Bill -You are so correct. Through the years I've come to learn that whenever legislation is presented for CE, it is done so via the state associations representing those involved without caring about the desires of those involved. They look at it as a guaranteed revenue generating modality which usually backfires in their face. They arrange to have their association grandfathered in as an "institute of instruction". They do so believing that since the 90% to 95% of the licensees within their state who are not members of their association will be mandated to attend one of their annual meetings to obtain the CE, they will increase their membership vastly. However, that has never happened. Within weeks certified instructors pop up all over the state and from there on out it is just a matter of competition, convenience and offers made by the other CE instructors. Trust me when I say I speak from experience because although we do not have CE for PI's, we have had CE for other licenses I've held.SueIn a message dated 12/8/2013 5:36:37 A.M. A short time ago, I remember reading about a state that had passed a bill whereas people who had been licensed for a number of years would be exempt from Continuing Education Program. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows about this as soon as possible. Thank you.
