CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
The Romanian Journal of Society and Politics encourages the submission
of high-quality original manuscripts which fall within its general
scope or which address the specific theme of an individual issue.
The fourth issue of the RJSP, to be published in October 2002, will
address the theme
Security in Romania / Security for Romania.
We welcome submissions on the questions of how individual, national,
and regional security for Romanians may be defined, and how these
various forms of security may be achieved. Topics may address such
issues as domestic security versus domestic violence or public security
versus the police state. Furthermore, and in an international context,
how can Romania
work to ensure its security within Europe and beyond, taking into
account recent developments in the region and the world, and considering
the country's foreign and defense policy options? What is the
Euro-Atlantic dimension of Romanian security?
Deadline for submissions: 30 June 2002.
The fifth issue of the RJSP, to be published in May 2003, will address
The Romanians and Their Past
We welcome contributions that discuss the recent or the distant history
of Romania and the Romanians - in Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and
the diaspora. Of particular interest are articles questioning orthodox
interpretations of historical events, reconsidering myths, commonly held
beliefs, and their uses, and contrasting traditional and modern patterns
Deadline for submissions: 31 January 2003.
The sixth issue of the RJSP, to be published in October 2003, will
address the theme:
Social Policy and Institutional Reform
We welcome contributions on the problems faced, the strategies evident,
and the solutions adopted in the making of Romanian social policy. Of
particular interest are articles that identify the concrete social
problems faced by Romanian society, assess previous attempts to tackle
these problems, and make constructive suggestions for further reform.
approaches informed by knowledge of the Romanian institutional context
are especially welcome.
Deadline for submissions: 30 June 2003.
