Helping a grieving child to heal presents challenges for even the most
skillful and compassionate counselor. This one-day interactive
      workshop will
provide professional clinicians and counselors with useful
      information on how
to support a child following the death of a loved one. At the
      conclusion of the
workshop, participants will have learned how to:

      • Formulate an assessment of factors that influence the grief of
      children
      • Identify children’s various responses to grief and ways to
      facilitate healing
      • Use three creative interventions geared to help children express
      their grief story
      • Help children use visualization to find answers to their loss
      within themselves
      • Teach children emotional self-care skills using “Children’s
      Imagination: Nine Tools for Treatment”

The morning sessions will educate participants on the special needs
      of bereaved
children and provide tools that children can use to facilitate the
      expression of
their grief. The interactive afternoon session will introduce the use
      of imagery
healing tools, which encourage children to use their imagination and
      creativity
to develop coping strategies in their grief process.
