      Dear All,

      The prediction of possible early Leonids on 2004 Nov 08, 2330 UT,
      by Jeremie was most interesting. However, the weather conditions
      in Germany were not favourable. Some phone calls revealed that
      most locations were cloudy. Ralf Koschack close to the Baltic Sea
      had some cloud-free intervals, and I myself made a 100km-trip to
      find clear skies. Our results:

      Ralf noted 2 meteors radiating from a position north of the expected
      radiant, but no Leonids from the predicted position

      The meteors listed as Leonids are not necessarily shower meteors
      because the apex region is at least partially aligned with the
      Leonid radiant (see field center). The "Leonids" matched the
      shower's radiant and angular velocity, but they may be easily
      rather sporadic than Leonids.


      The observational data suggest that there was no significant
      activity in the period between 2215 UT and 0132 UT. The few
      candidates may be regarded as an estimate for the "noise
      level" of meteors coming from the expected radiant region.
