      Hello Dave,

Please forgive me for taking the liberty of writing to you directly. I saw your reply to Sundarraj e-mail and I thought you might know the answer to my question too.

I'm a Mexican software engineer who works as an independent contractor for a major corporation in the USA. Recently I expressed my intention of relocating to Canada and my point of contact in the American company mentioned they would like to continue our work relationship. This is an opportunity I'd like to pursue for obvious reasons.

      My questions are:

If I become a permanent resident of Canada, how could I continue doing business with the American company and pay taxes in Canada?

If I become “incorporated”, could I continue being a one-man show? Or will be required to hire staff?

Would this kind of experience count towards the famous "Canadian Experience"?

Thank you in advance Dave and to whomever replies to this post

      Hi Sundarraj

Incorporation should afford you some level of financial protection should anything go wrong and also means that they will be dealing with a structured company. You can incorporate for around C$100 via some internet sites but being new to canada I'd recommend taking the advice of a certified management accountant and/or a lawyer who specialises in business. It may cost more but you'll have the best advice and the company will be structured correctly according to your needs. Also, contact your local business development centre for expert free advice.

Congratulations on your PR and good luck.

      Hi Group,

      Warm greetings...

I wonder if anyone of this group has an answer for my
      questions.

I recently become PR and looking for jobs in IT.
Few consulting Companies are ready to hire on
      contract basis for specific project.

So they are looking for individuals having
      'Incorporated' companies.

I am understanding the term 'Incorporated'.

How it will be helpful ?

      Thanks
      SS Raj
