The Interfaith Encounter Association deeply mourns the untimely death of Rabbi Menachem Froman ZT"L (1945-2013), an Israeli Orthodox Jewish rabbi and a peacemaker and negotiator with close ties to Palestinian religious leaders from the PLO and Hamas. A founding member of Gush Emunim, he served as the chief rabbi of Tekoa in the West Bank. He was one of the pioneers of promoting and leading interfaith dialogue between Israeli Jews and Palestinians, focusing on using religion as a tool and source for recognizing the humanity and dignity of 'the other'. May her rest and in peace and continue to inspire us all.

      Jerusalem-Hebron Youth Interfaith Encounter group

      January 17th 2013

The encounter took place in Jerusalem at 3pm. We gathered in Jaffa Gate in East Jerusalem and had a visit of the area until 4:30pm . Then we went to join the Jerusalem-Dura group in the Everest Hotel in beit Jalla at 5pm. The two groups set together and talked about our interfaith encounters. Each of us shared their view and experience of our encounters and how they came to join them. We talked until 7:30pm , then we went for a visit of Bethlehem and fare-welled at 9pm .
