Can Jews and Christians Experience Something of the Other's Inner life?
      ***********************************************************************

Some forty people came on 14 March to the Jerusalem Swedish Theological
Institute in order to take part in the discussion between Yossi Klein
Halevi, author of the recently published book, "At the Entrance to the
Garden of Eden: A Jew's Search for God with Christians and Muslims in the
Holy Land," and Brother Jack Driscoll, director of the Bat Kol Institute
      - a Christian-sponsored Jerusalem center that promotes the study of
Judaism by Christians -- and former president of Iona College in New York.

Jack and Yossi shared with the participants their courageous and intimate
spiritual journeys. Jack described his experiences of Judaism through the
richness of the Hebrew language, the gift of Shabbat as a day of rest, the
encounter with Talmud Tora (the special Jewish way of the study of the
sacred texts) and his work at Bat Kol Institute. Yossi illustrated his
path from total negation during his childhood in Brooklin, to his first
positive experience of Christianity through silence and meditation to the
ability to refer positively to Communion and the Cross. In his
illustration Yossi integrated moving readings of passages from his book.

Participants joined the conversation and shared their own experiences as
well as admiration to the courage and openness of Jack and Yossi.
