      THE CREATURE (Adam Weisskopf)

      Transformed (Point total 51)
Adam Weisskopf has a problem: the accident that improved him also rendered him a monster: “His limbs were in proportion…His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath: his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun white sockets in which they were set, his shrivelled complexion and straight black lips.” He was considered bright in high school and was given an internship at a local research facility. (Never trust research facilities in a superhero universe.) Villains attempted to steal the new quantum black hole energy generator and heroes tried to stop them. Adam hid, but from his vantage point, they did more damage than the villains. There were backup notes—the generator could have been rebuilt, though finding another quantum black hole would have been a problem; they didn’t need to rip up items to fight the villains, not in the research lab!
The accident left Adam a different person: smarter, faster, strong, more coordinated…and hideous. He craves acceptance, and has found it by assembling equally freakish scientists, but his real goal is to find the right body to receive a transplant of his nervous system. Then he can be part of the world again.
The candidate has to be handsome and young (or immortal), to resemble Adam’s old appearance, and (he has now decided) have super powers. All candidates so far were invulnerable, which rendered them useless. In the meantime, Adam generates the necessary income for their experiments through patents (he holds several useful ones), thefts of technology, industrial espionage, and the occasional bit of protection work. These latter jobs are more to keep the Teratothenes busy than to generate income: if the job is difficult, involves science or technology in some significant way, if it will amuse them and keep them occupied, Adam might take it.
He has estranged himself from his family, feeling too hideous. The Teratothenes *are* his family, and he takes care of them, even to the point of making sure that Alpha Male doesn’t know he’s the real leader. His weapons tend to be non-lethal: he has no wish to kill people, though he knows that Alpha Male does not have that restriction if pushed.
