Right, thats the word. I couldn't find it anywhere anymore and from
what I had recalled it was something differant. You are right though.
I do recall reading somewhere though that he feels solo's are
overrater and that there aren't very many talented rythem guitarists
out there that get credit and that he feels leads can be overrated
and draw music away from the body of the song. That is why I thought
it was a word like that. Once again though, I can't remember the
exact origin of this, it was either an interveiw I read or maybe from
the box set, but I don't think it was the box set.
I dunno, I geuss maybe it all comes down to the fact that he just
happened to like the song and wanted the video to be on that one.
Maybe it has meaning to him somehow. Who knows, only the band can

> The word is actually "royalties." In other words what Schaffer
said is that you don't get a writer's fee for playing a solo and that
if someone else uses your solo in a song you can't sue them for
that. As far as I know he never said there's no talent in playing
solos. Also, I don't mean to start a fight in this group, but please
don't take Schaffer's quotes out of context. I remember a while ago
in this group someone brought upt that exact quote from Schaffer
before the new album even came out, and a lot of people were saying
they were afraid that there would be no solos on the new record, that
Schaffer had sold out, that he let his ego get the best of him, etc,
yet the new album has lots of great lead guitar work and great solos,
so please stop making Schaffer look like something he's not by taking
his quotes out of context.
> As far as the video goes, whatever the reasons, I am disappointed
that Schaffer decided to use that song for IE's first video. I mean
it's not a bad song, but IE doesn't sound different enough from the
nu-metal tripe that's been on Headbanger's Ball for the show's
audience to really notice them.
