      Community Update

      No. 52: December 31 , 2010

      From the Resource team

      Dear Friends ,

With 2011 round the corner , we take this opportunity to thank each and every member of MCH Community for their continued enthusiasm , participation , support and presence. We wish that the new year brings new hopes with new challenges and new means to attain success in your endeavours.

In the month of December , we undertook an important discussion on the Approach Paper for the XII Five Year Plan. The query was put forth by the Planning Commission seeking comments from the members. We feel ecstatic by the number of contributions received and are thankful to all the members for their contributions. This gives us the assurance that community members strongly believe in the power of knowledge sharing and the commitment to see the nation progress faster on the maternal and child health aspects. We will share the Approach paper once it is out. The Consolidated Reply of the discussion is available at ftp://ftp.solutionexchange.net.in/public/mch/cr/cr-se-mch-aids-09121001.pdf (PDF , Size: 700 KB)

The global effort - “Every Woman Every Child” brings together governments , philanthropic institutions and other funders , the United Nations and multilateral organizations , civil society and non-governmental organizations , the business community , health-care workers and professionals , and academic and research institutions around the world that support the “Global Strategy for Women’s and Children’s Health”. The launch of the Global Strategy represents a major step towards filling the gap between the investment needed and what is currently provided for women’s and children’s health.
