      Dear Colleagues,
       
      1. SRS The 2007 SRS Bulletin was released yesterday. There are no surprises – the IMR for India in 2007 reduced by only 2 deaths per thousand live births as compared to 2006. The inter-se positions of the states (the bigger states) remain the same. The decline in birth rate during the same period has been less than half a birth per thousand population. The state wise rates (IMR and Birth rates) are given below
