Invitation to HighNoon Spring School 2013

I have the pleasure of inviting you for the 2nd HighNoon Spring School.
The 2nd HighNoon Spring School sponsored by UKaid Department for International Development this time, will be held from 4th to 7th February 2013 at Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Delhi. The HighNoon Spring School was first held last year with the successful culmination of European Union sponsored project "HighNoon Adaptation to changing Water Resources Availability in Northern India with respect to Himalayan Glacier Retreat and Changing Monsoon Pattern".
The main objective of the spring school is to educate participants about adaptation to changing water resources and water demand with glacier retreat, changing monsoon precipitation and related science policy interaction. The Spring School will improve knowledge of the participants on climate change, socio economic changes and uncertainty coupled with the processes. The course will also give participants a hands-on experience in participatory processes to develop adaptation measures. Spring School will help participants in identifying the linkages among science, stake holders and policy makers so that most feasible and viable adaptation policies can be implemented. All the lectures and hands-on will be delivered by the experts conducting the school.
Who can attend?
The course is a great opportunity for PhD students, early career scientists, Masters Students in their final year, primarily studying or conducting research within the area of water and climate change and policy makers dealing with climate change and adaptation in various sectors to learn and to interact with experts from these fields. The course will be conducted in English. Female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. There will be no registration fee and no accommodation charges. Participants will receive a certificate at the end of the spring school.
