It's less than a week until Darwin Day! I just wanted to give a
reminder about our get-together and a few more details.
We will be meeting for lunch (dutch treat) at The Old Mill Inn
Restaurant in Fair Park at 11:30am. The address is 3611 Grand Ave,
Dallas. I have never been to the resaurant, but I've always wanted to
because it is in a neat looking historic building. The place is
casual and less than $10 per meal. They serve sandwiches, burgers
and other lunch specials like chicken-fried steak. I have made
reservations under my name at the restaurant.
After lunch we will walk over to the Dallas Museum of Natural History
at 3535 Grand Ave. Admission to the museum is:
$7.00 for adults
$6.00 for senior citizens (55 & older)
$5.00 for students (13-18)
$4.00 for children (3-12)
and free for children under 3 years of age.
The museum has many diorama type exhibits of animals that are from
Texas and several interesting bone structures from Texas animals
including a huge sea turtle, giant armadillo, mammoth and
Acrocanthosaurus, a huge, fierce dinosaur that once lived in North
I hope to see you there!
