      "Vigil for Survival"
      March/Moving Vigil

      Saturday, December 12, 7pm
Mecom Fountain (that's in the traffic circle where Montrose and Main
Street meet. & between Herman Park and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts)
      Then we'll march to Westheimer.

Come on out during the UN climate talks in Copenhagen and show that
Houston cares! This is part of the international 350.org day of
action. "Around the world people will gather at iconic and strategic
locations in their communities, and will light candles of hope to
stand in solemn solidarity with the citizens of the nations whose
very survival is threatened by the climate crisis." Recent science
      http://www.chicagocleanpower.org/ward.pdf shows that climate change
could result in mass extinctions. A local speaker on this topic is
      Tim Mock TimCMock-gmail.com.

Folks are encouraged to bring signs, banners, and enthusiasm! And a
candle or light that won't blow out easily (a few may be
provided). We will start at Mecom Fountain, head down Montrose to
"freeway blog" a bit on the 59 bridge, then all the way down to the
      Montrose/Westheimer intersection.

For more information on the protest, contact David Collins, dbcsez@...

Action is the antidote to despair....
