      I think the lithium super-battery described in the article is a few years off,
      but here is something that could be more immediately
      applied to EVs in production to both reduce our dependence on imported oil, but
      also help stabilise the electric grid. (It would also be kind of nice when the
      lights went out in a storm.)

      energy to be jockeyed back and forth between the battery and motor(s) while
      driving and between the battery and the mains while charging. All with the
      same set of lightweight, compact electronics.
