Because of inadequate state efforts, Texas cities are starting to take action for clean air; but state legislators are trying to restrict the cities’ power.
The Texas Senate should reject SB 1317 by Sen. Jackson – the bill that would take away the authority of cities to pass ordinances regulating certain air pollution sources.
Deadline for responding: Please take action by [deadline].
Urge your state senator to vote against suspending the Senate rules to take up and consider SB 1317. If the rules are suspended and SB 1317 is debated, urge your state senator to vote against SB 1317.
